Denmark’s fourth largest city, has introduced the country’s first BRT system, the Plusbus. The 12-kilometre route with 22 stops is served by 14 Solaris Urbino 24 electric battery buses, each almost 25 metres long. Designed in MetroStyle, the buses run every 7.5 minutes during peak hours. The system connects key points in the city, including the university campus, to improve public transport and meet the growing needs of Aalborg.
The five door systems on the BRT bus are designed to optimise passenger flow while ensuring safe and reliable transport. The Plug Sliding doors offer a completely unobstructed entrance, making boarding and alighting quick and safe. Designed for efficiency, they ensure smooth passenger movement even during the busiest peak periods. At the front portal, the single-leaf inward sliding door system provides convenient access.
Aalborg’s BRT system demonstrates how high volumes of passengers can be transported seamlessly at short intervals, supported by advanced door systems built to meet the challenge. We wish Aalborg’s BRT system continued success and a future of safe, efficient operations!
